Asphalt millings and RAP processing across Colorado.
The asphalt you mill off a road is not spent. Crushed and screened to a consistent size, reclaimed asphalt becomes a compacting surface, a base material, or hot-mix feedstock. CrushRite processes it on your site, so the millings go back down instead of getting trucked away and bought back.
Reclaimed asphalt is paving material you already own.
On a mill-and-overlay, the milled asphalt is a resource, not a disposal problem. The catch is that raw millings come off the road in mixed sizes that do not compact or spec out on their own. Crushing and screening turns that variable pile into a uniform product you can put right back to work on the same project.
We crush and screen the RAP on your site, then split it to size on the same screening and classification line that finishes our other aggregate. Tearing out concrete on the same job? That runs through the same plant as concrete crushing and recycling.
Mill it, process it, place it. Without the round trip.
The default is to truck millings off to a yard and truck new material back when it is time to pave. Processing the RAP on-site collapses that round trip, and on a multi-mile resurfacing the tonnage adds up fast.
- ▸ No hauling millings off to a plant or stockpile yard
- ▸ No buying the same tonnage back as virgin aggregate or hot mix
- ▸ A uniform, screened product instead of a variable raw millings pile
- ▸ Less truck traffic on and off the job, and less diesel burned
- ▸ Material stays on the project, ready to place under the new section
From raw millings to a product you can place.
One crushing and screening setup turns a reclaimed asphalt stockpile into the surface, base, or feedstock the job needs, run to the gradation your spec calls for.
Screened asphalt millings
Raw millings come off the road in mixed sizes with slabbed chunks. Crushed and screened to a consistent gradation, they compact into a tight, shed-water surface for lots, lanes, shoulders, and access roads.
Screened millings details →RAP base course
Reclaimed asphalt pavement blended and screened for use as base, or as a RAP-rich base layer under new pavement. Run to the gradation your spec calls for, the same closed-circuit crusher and screen line holds it across the production run.
Crushed RAP feedstock
Sized and cleaned reclaimed asphalt ready to go back into a hot-mix plant as recycled content, so the asphalt you milled off becomes part of the asphalt you pave back.
Custom-sized reclaimed asphalt
Tell us the target size and end use and we run the crusher and screen to it. Sample gradation reports are available when the prime or engineer of record requires them.
Stockpile to spec in one mobilization.
The crew that crushes the RAP also screens it and stockpiles it, so a variable millings pile leaves as a uniform, placeable product.
Assess the stockpile and set the target
Check the millings or RAP for oversize, slabbing, and contamination, then lock the output: a compacted-surface gradation, a base spec, or feedstock size.
Feed the crusher
The XCMG 948 wheel loader feeds the stockpile into the plant at a steady rate, so the crusher and screen stay full and production holds.
Equipment specs →Crush the oversize
The Kleemann MR110Zi impact crusher breaks down slabbed and oversize RAP into a workable fraction without smearing the asphalt binder.
Equipment specs →Screen to a consistent gradation
The MS19Z double-deck screen pulls the product to size. This is the same screening and classification line behind the rest of our aggregate work.
Equipment specs →Stockpile and load out
The WA500 loader builds clean, uniform stockpiles ready to place or load to trucks, staged where the build needs them.
Equipment specs →Anyone milling, clearing, or stockpiling asphalt.
